The Western Province Owners' and Trainers' Association cordially invites you to attend the 2003 J&B Met charity evening of "Cocktails and Racing" to be held on Wednesday 29th January 2003 at Kenilworth Race Course at 6:30pm. The evening will feature a panel of discussions with Peter Kannemeyer, Garth Puller, Robert Bloomberg, Graham Hawkins, Neil Andrews and compere Jean Malherbe.

The following South African Super Stallions Services have kindly been donated and will be auctioned on the evening:

Original oil painting of top Stallions at Stud by British artist Paul Munden and sketches by Andrew Barlow, a Manchester United soccer ball signed by the team and donated by Doreen Nelson as well as Horse Trophy donated by Varsfontein Stud will also be auctioned. The J&B Met Sweepstake draw will be made after the auction.

We sincerely trust that you will accept our invitation to attend the Charity evening, as much needed funds are required by the Society for Autistic Children and the WP Owners' and Trainers' Benevolent Fund. The Benevolent Fund cares for retired trainers and widows of trainers in need. There are increasing calls on the Fund as we endeavor to meet the ever rising cost of living.

The Society for Autistic Children is under increasing pressure with regard to less Government funding and they rely heavily for their school's survival on the WPOTA's fund raising efforts.

The National Horse Trust endeavors to prevent ex-racehorses and cross-breeds being abused or neglected and the Western Cape Horse Trust is totally maintained by fund raising. The Western Province Groom's School Trust is an education literacy programme for grooms.

Reserved tickets at either tables of 14 or 16 can be purchased for R100.00 per person and unreserved tickets can purchased for R50.00 per person.
